Research interests:

  • Synthesis of functionalized macrocycles: template reactions, cyclisations at high dilution, selective functionalisations.

  • Metal complexes with macrocyclic ligands: structures, stabilities, equilibria in solution, kinetics of formation and dissociation of metal complexes,spectroscopic and redox properties.

  • Reactivity of complexes: hydrolysis kinetics of functional groups mimicking the esterase, peptidase and nitrilase activity of enzymes; reactivity of dinuclear complexes, as catalysts for hydrolytic reactions such as phosphate ester hydrolysis.

  • Applications of macrocyclic complexes in medicine, radioactive labeling of monoclonal antibodies for diagnostic and therapeutic applications against tumors.
