Psoralen Mutagenesis by Transient Misalignment?   A hypothesis involving reversed slippage or transient misalignment is discussed for the mechanism of replication-dependent mutations occurring after intercalation and monoadduct formation of psoralens.

The model is consistent with 63 % of experimentally observed psoralen mutations published by Evelyne Sage and collegues, Paris, in EMBO J. 1993,12, 397-402. and in J. Photochem. Photobiol. B-Biology 1993, 20, 211-217.
